22nd November 2012

The weather has caused havoc with racing for today, with two meeting already abandoned and the signs from Market Rasen not the strongest. As a result, and with the good racing coming up from Friday onwards, please forgive me if this is a short post, but it really doesn't seem spectacular.

14.35 Thurles

This race looks set to be dominated by RULE THE WORLD who should see off this group with ease. The only thing that may make him come unstuck is if there is no pace as he likes to take the lead towards the end of the race off a decent pace. Whilst he should have the necessary ability here, the bet I'll be going with is a forecast with Captain Arceus who is taken to bounce back from a poor run in Graded company last time to follow the hot favourite home. 1/2 Paddy Power

13.40 Market Rasen

A risky race as we only really have CHANGING TIMES form to go on as Wayward Frolic has yet to complete a race. The Twiston-Davies team will see this as very winnable and I'll be shocked if he takes the runners up position again. Of the newcomers, who let's remember could be anything, Monturgeon looks the main threat, with a pedigree that suggests he will appreciate the switch to fences. 4/5 several

14.10 Market Rasen

Most of these don't look like they will appreciate the soft ground with Dawn Commander in particular better on a sounder surface. Mister Hyde doesn't see his races out strongly enough so it is down to O CROTAIGH to take this, who goes well around here and should have plenty of stamina to see out the trip. He's also had the beating of Midnight Sail before and they renew rivalries on better terms. Arbor Supreme is too unpredictable to back with confidence and hasn't seemed right this year, but if back to anything like his best would have this easily. 7/1 Paddy Power, Bulldog777

Good luck!
