23rd November 2012

Apologies for a quick write up this morning but the post is late and I want you to have as much time as possible to get your selections done.

14.40 Ascot

Although Kapga De Cerisy caught the eye over course and distance last time out, he didn't see out the race strongly enough to suggest he'll be able to beat Royale's Charter or MARSHAL ZHUKOV. The latter preferred as he should cope with softer conditions best today and he receives 7 pounds from his rival once his claimer is taken into account. His display last time out was really pleasing and he looks to be one to stay onside of this season. 4/1 several

13.20 Haydock

Kumbeshwar always looks like he could do something but can't be backed as his jumping is just so sketchy. Charingworth may have an outside chance as he's handled soft before, but this has to be DOMTALINE's who was unlucky to lose at Cheltenham on reappearance and compensation awaits here. 2/1 Coral, Stan James

13.55 Haydock

I'm more than prepared to give GULLINBURSTI another chance after a good if distant 3rd last time on debut. He relishes soft ground and the shorter distance today will help him further. Knock A Hand has a case to beat the selection on hurdling form, but he was severely disappointing on his chasing debut and although an improvement is expected, Emma Lavelle's charge can reverse form over fences. Poungach with a clear round is also a player whilst Super Duty may prefer a bit shorter. 4/1 several

15.05 Haydock

This looks set to come down to GEVREY CHAMBERTIN and Wilton Milan with preference for the former who we know handles soft ground. The latter's pedigree doesn't suggest he will relish it, and although that may later be proved incorrect, David Pipe's charge looks set to enjoy conditions today and the step up beyond two miles. 15/8 Stan James

Good luck!
