1st October 2012
A hugely impressive winner yesterday in Viztoria, and an emphatic European comeback in the Ryder Cup meant yesterday was a truly special day. I can only send my congratulations out to the European team for something that will long live in the memory and condolences to Team USA. Poulter for BBC SPOTY? Anyway, enough of golf, and back to the horses. Apologies again for the late post.

As shown earlier today at Newton Abbot where Jump City won, it is often seen in these novice chase events that hurdling form holds true. The best hurdler here is undoubtedly DYLAN ROSS who has performed well in a whole host of hurdle races including Listed class and Grade 1 racing. If he takes to fences he should be hard to pass here, and given Noel Meade's record in this race, I'm sure he's found a horse here to maintain his streak of 2 out of the last 3 winners. Baily Green is the biggest threat, but conceding 7 pounds to potentially a better horse will make this hard for him. Imperial Shabra turns out again quickly after disappointing at Navan 2 days ago but should be well accounted for here. Of the outsiders, House Rules has been improving over fences but this step up in class should be too much for him. 5/4
Good luck!
