9th November 2012

Another successful day with two winners yesterday brought the week's tally to 5 winners out of 8. The racing doesn't look as high class today and in those instances I don't particularly like a bet, especially as the weekend looks to be quite good. However here are a couple that catch the eye today.

21.00 Dundalk

The highest rated in the field, receiving a handy 3 year old allowance and with a course and distance win to boot, there's plenty to like about LILY'S ANGEL and explains her short price in this Fillies Stakes. She has the beating of Devotion, Aaraas and New Magic on that form but don't be deceived into thinking that was a poor race. The inclusion of Colour Of Love ensured we can take this form to be franked today. Libys Dream will probably rate the main threat on recent displays but will find it hard to concede 5 pounds to the selection. 6/5 Betvictor

15.20 Musselburgh

Lockedinthepocket was unlucky to lose last time out, headed just before the end at Newcastle and off a 2 pound lower mark today he is surely in with a chance of being there or thereabouts again. However that race was only 2 weeks ago and was a hard one and may just have taken its toll and ensures my attentions will be focused elsewhere. Blazin White Face has been given plenty of time to recover from being pulled up at Perth. She didn't run well that day but a better showing is expected today from the mare this afternoon. Red Tanber has won over course and distance and even raced in the Jewson last season, however he doesn't have a good record fresh and is again overlooked. Relax certainly has the best form on offer, going down narrowly to Kauto Relko and Back Bob Back, conceding weight on both occasions. He is a worthy favourite but those performances have to be taken with a pinch of salt as the first in particular flattered him. Instead I'm taking a chance on BALDING BANKER today to improve from his chasing debut 27 days ago and to appreciate the step up in trip. He has recently changed stables and I'm sure a better run is expected. This mark doesn't look beyond him and he rates the value in this race. 11/2 Coral

Good luck!
