A thrilling finish yesterday between Zuider Zee and Lieutenant Miller saw the regular hurdler come out on top. Potentially the start of a career over both the flat and jumps, he'll certainly be bang on for the start of the upcoming national hunt season. With only 2 major weekends left in the flat, the mind does start gearing towards the jumps. I've already gone in on my Big Buck's/Quevega double for Cheltenham, crossing my fingers and hoping they both turn up in the World and Mares Hurdle fit and in form. Until the end of the flat season though we have some racing to cover and here's one value pick for today.
16.10 Leicester
This handicap looks notoriously difficult to decipher, but CAPE SAFARI has stood out as looking worthy of an each way bet. A course and distance winner, and certainly able to deal with conditions underfoot, he's back down to a mark of 74 which he had previously run well off earlier in the year and 1 pound lower than his last winning mark. The jockey today has run on him twice, including that last named win and he's certainly worth a go at current prices. Canary Wharf reappears after a long time off the track so may just need this, and the two at the top of the weights, Man Of Plenty and Require, have been racing in stronger company so will appreciate the drop in class. Likely favourite Burnham has a chance but the selection is preferred over this trip. 12/1
Good luck!
